The premier batters the PTI leader for using religious imagery to brand his political agitation

LAHORE (Web Desk) - In yet another jibe at PTI chairman Imran Khan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said the roots of the mutinous attack on the state, its symbols and sensitive installations on May 9 lied in the contents of Imran Niazi's speeches over the past one year.

Taking to Twitter, he alleged that Imran Khan had liberally deployed religious imagery to brand his political agitation as a war between truth and falsehood.

"He [Imran] has relentlessly maligned and attacked the armed forces and the sitting Army Chief and very cunningly prepared his cult with the slogans of 'Haqeeqi Azadi' aimed at inciting them for violence we witnessed on May 9," Mr Sharif further said in his tweet.

The premier's latest bashing of the PTI chief followed the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting that endorsed the army's decision to try the perperators and sabotuers of May 9 attacks on military installations and properties under the Army Act.
